HD Motion Images (30 fps)

The DMC-FZ28 can also record motion images in high-definition (1,280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps)*. The pixel mixed readout method enables bright motion-image recording even in low-light settings. When viewing, these high-resolution 16:9 motion images will provide a remarkable effect on your large-screen TV**. The DMC-FZ28 can also record stunning full-size movies in WVGA (848 x 480 pixels at 30 fps)* or standard motion images in VGA (640 x 480 pixels at 30 fps)* and QVGA (320 x 240 pixels at 30/10 fps)*.

*QuickTime Motion JPEG. In Motion Picture Mode, the length of recording time depends on the capacity of the SDHC/SD Memory Card. (Up to the equivalent of 2 GB per motion-image recording.) When you set the motion picture quality to VGA, WVGA and HD(1,280x720 pixels), we recommend using a high-speed memory card with "10MB/s" or greater on the package. Some lens movement sounds may be recorded.
For Europe, motion images can be recorded continuously for up to 15 minutes.
**Requires an optional HD component cable DMW-HDC2 and confirm that the TV, you are connecting to, has a component input terminal compatible with a 1080i signal.

Zoom in Motion Picture

The DMC-FZ28 also lets you use zooming when taking motion pictures. Its powerful 18x optical zoom is ideal for capturing dynamic video clips of sports action or animals in nature.

A motion image can be cut out as a still image in motion image playback. And you can also archive a 9-cutout still image.

What's HD?

HD stands for high definition. It is often used when referring to TV standards. The maximum resolution for digital broadcasting is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The latest TV models are designed to take advantage of this high resolution.

In other words...You can view your photos with the highest possible resolution for each HDTV.

Select from 3 Aspect Ratios

The aspect ratio for the DMC-FZ28 can be easily selected from 16:9* wide, 3:2** and conventional 4:3 to shoot in the framing aspect that best suits the photo's composition or purpose of use.

USB 2.0 High-speed

The DMC-FZ28 supports the USB 2.0 high-speed standard. In comparison with conventional full-speed data transfer at 12 Mbps, USB 2.0 high-speed transfers data at max.480 Mbps. This is a highly practical speed for sending high-volume image data from the camera to a PC for viewing or storage.

Included Software

The DMC-FZ28 records original image data in RAW file format, which allows images to be developed according to your intention. A number of highly advanced functions can be applied to these RAW images by using the new SILKYPIX^® Developer Studio 3.0 SE software utility, with its unique combination of high resolution and extraordinary color separation performance.

Optional Accessories

A wide range of optional accessories are available, such as the DMW-LT55 Tele Conversion Lens, which allows full-resolution, ultra-zoom shooting up to 30.6x (35mm equivalent: 826 mm), and the DMW-LPL46 PL Filter, which renders beautiful, lifelike landscapes and skies by cutting the reflections from water and glass surfaces and random light rays from the surroundings. Enjoy customizing your own, original system, and then use it to produce highly distinctive images.

PictBridge Compatible - Direct Print Function

The PictBridge standard lets you print directly on a compatible digital printer. Print size, layout, date and other settings can be made with the camera. Of course, you can also make multiple prints of an image, or print only the ones that you have selected.
