Advanced

The 2.7-inch LCD has a total of 230,000 dots for high resolution. The DMC-FZ28 features the Intelligent LCD function. Under bright sunlight, the Auto Power LCD function increases the backlight brightness in 9 steps according to the ambient light intensity. EVF (Electronic Viewfinder)

Advanced

The DMC-FZ28 has a clear 0.2" EVF (electronic viewfinder) featuring a 100% field of view, 201,600-dot equivalent, and a large, comfortable eyepiece. Located directly on top of the lens, it is easy to use and provides fast, accurate framing. Using the viewfinder also consumes no battery power.

Out-of-frame Display

This function is handy when you want to concentrate on shooting without having your view blocked by information displayed on the screen.

Scene Mode

DMC-FZ28 Scene Modes

The Scene Mode function lets the camera make the optimal settings for you automatically, so anybody can take superb photos with ease. The versatile Scene Mode range, which handles just about any situation and subject type, is a major LUMIX feature. And to make it even simpler to use, the icons and display are designed for easy visibility.

High-speed Burst Mode

New

Max. 13 frames /second!

Hi-speed Burst Mode* lets the DMC-FZ28 take consecutive shots at a maximum of 13 frames per second with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 2-megapixel resolution in Speed-priority Mode. With a 4:3 aspect ratio and 3-megapixel resolution, it can shoot up to 11 frames per second, and with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 2.5-megapixel resolution, it can shoot up to 12 frames per second. This is great for capturing fast-moving sports or racing scenes. The DMC-FZ28's mechanical shutter makes sure you get great images without any smearing. So you can take a series of shots, then choose the one you like best and delete the rest.
(Note that the focus and exposure are fixed at the first frame.)

Maximum Consecutive Shots

* In 3-megapixel (4:3), 2.5-megapixel (3:2), 2-megapixel (16:9) recording. The consecutive shooting speed varies depending on the memory card. The number of recordable picture depends on the memory card size, battery life, picture size, and compression.

Flash Burst Mode

New

A newly added Flash Burst Mode makes it possible to take consecutive shots with continuous flash emission.* This is ideal for photographing indoor events or sports scenes.

* Max. 5 images. In 3-megapixel (4:3), 2.5-megapixel (3:2), or 2-megapixel (16:9) resolution.

The Advanced Scene Mode function lets you quickly set the frequently used Portrait, Scenery, Sports, or Night Portrait Modes with the mode dial. The DMC-FZ28 also includes a new Close-up Mode. A/S/M Mode

Manual functions are the key to taking highly controlled and distinctive photos. Aperture-priority Mode lets you open the aperture up wide for stunning portraits with softly focused backgrounds. Shutter-Priority Mode makes it possible to express the dynamic power of a flowing stream by slowing down the shutter speed. And Manual Exposure Mode gives you total control of special shots, allowing you to achieve a higher level of photographic beauty.

●Aperture-priority Mode

F8.0F2.8

You can set the aperture between f/2.8-8.0 (Wide) and f/4.4-8.0 (Tele) to control the depth of field.

●Shutter-priority Mode

1/50 sec1/400 sec

Adjust the shutter speed from 8 to 1/2,000 of a second. Fast shutter speeds can be used to freeze moving subjects, and slow shutter speeds can create a motion blur that exaggerates the feeling of movement.

●Manual Exposure Mode

In this mode you can set both the aperture and shutter speed, to take beautiful, artistic photos. The slowest shutter speed in Manual Exposure Mode is 60 sec. You can enjoy a wide range of shooting possibilities by combining a shutter speed from 1/2,000 to 60 sec with an F stop from f/2.8-8.0 (Wide) to f/4.4-8.0 (Tele). Noise reduction also improves images taken at slow shutter speeds.

Slideshow with Music

New

Don't see anything above? Please make JavaScript effective or install the latest Flash Plug-in. Get ADOBE FLASH PLAYER

* Please confirm that the TV, you are connecting to, has a component input terminal compatible with a 1080i signal.

Leveling

New

Now you can fix images that you accidentally shot at a slight angle. And you can do it right inside the camera.* Simply display the recorded image in Playback mode, then follow the easy-to-understand display instructions to level it. Rotational correction up to 2° is possible in either clockwise or counter clockwise direction. Even difficult corrections of straight horizons and architectural buildings can be made with excellent results.

*The picture quality will deteriorate.

Category Playback

Photos played back from a total of 9 settings can be searched and retrieved as a group for playback or for viewing in a slideshow.

Title Edit / Text Stamp

Advanced

The Title Edit function in playback mode lets you edit the titles of any photos you want. Two of the Scene Modes, Baby Mode and Pet Mode, let you enter the date of birth and name of your subject in advance. With the DMC-FZ28, you can also enter your destination and the date of travel in advance, in the Travel Date setting. The title, name, age based on the birth date, date of travel information, and date of shooting are displayed during playback, and can be printed on photos.*

*When date, name and title are stamped on a photo, the photo is automatically resized to 3-megapixel format, or the original size is maintained for photos smaller than 3-megapixel format. However, you can choose either to save or overwrite the original picture.

Demo Mode

New

The new Demo Mode provides an easy-to-understand slideshow of the DMC-FZ28 functions, such as the effects of the 27mm wide-angle lens, 18x optical zoom, and the functions included in the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode.

Built-in Memory approx. 50MB

Advanced

Take photos even when you don't have an SDHC/SD Memory Card on hand. Just use the built-in memory, then copy the data to an SDHC/SD card or PC later. You can also copy images from a memory card or PC to the built-in memory, and view them on the LCD anytime you like. Plus, the built-in memory capacity of the DMC-FZ28 has been increased to approx. 50 MB. In addition to providing extra memory when your memory card fills up, this is a great place to store your favorite photos so you can view them anytime you want.
