0.1 sec Light Speed AF (SZ7)

The DMC-SZ7 boasts the approx. 0.1 second of Light Speed AF that helps to catch even the most fleeting photo opportunities. You can quickly focus on moving subjects, such as when you're shooting sports scenes or animals.

Sonic Speed AF (SZ1)

The Sonic Speed AF and a quick start-up time give the DMC-SZ1 super high-speed response that helps to catch even the most fleeting photo opportunities.

AF Tracking

Once you focus on your subject, the AF Tracking automatically tracks it until you press the shutter. When you're taking images of an active subject, like children or pets, this function eliminates the need to press the shutter button halfway down repeatedly to readjust the focus.

High-speed Consecutive Shooting (SZ7)

The newly developed MOS sensor helps to realize the high-speed burst shooting*1. You can take a series of shots, then choose the ones you like the best and delete the rest.

10 fps with 14.1-megapixel Full Resolution

The DMC-SZ7 can fire off up to approx. 10 fps in 14.1-megapixel full resolution*2. Great for capturing fast subject motion, such as sports scenes or animals.

5 fps / 2 fps with AF Tracking

You can snap off consecutive shots at approx. 5 fps or 2 fps with AF Tracking*3. That keeps the focus on quickly moving animals or children for capturing decisive moments with crisp clarity.

Intelligent Burst Mode

The Intelligent Burst Shooting is available on the DMC-SZ7*3. It automatically sets the frame rate of burst shooting according to the subject's movement – whether it moves fast or slow – utilizing the mechanism of Intelligent ISO Control.

High-speed Burst Mode (SZ1)

The DMC-SZ1 lets you snap off consecutive shots at approx. 1.3 fps in 16.1-megapixel full-resolution*4. You can also select High-speed Burst Mode that fires off up to approx. 10 fps with 3-megapixel resolution*5, which is highly sufficient for photo prints.

Fast Start-up Time: The parallel processing of software achieves ultra high-speed start-ups.

Flash Burst Mode: You can take consecutive flash shots without having to wait for the flash to recharge*.
