
New Zealand-based photographer Amos Chapple was born on February 26, 1982.
He started his career as a press photographer at the New Zealand Herald newspaper and now works as a freelance travel photographer for clients such as The Wall Street Journal, Wanderlust Magazine, Greenpeace, and Tourism Holdings Ltd.
Since 2006 he has worked as a regular contractor for the Our Place Publishing project, photographing UNESCO World Heritage sites around the world. He has photographed in more than 50 countries including Uzbekistan, Belarus, Papua New Guinea and Jordan.
He has a particular love for Russia and the former Soviet Union states. In 2009, he was named Cathay Pacific Travel Photographer of the Year.
He portrays landscapes and lifestyles in highly natural settings by interacting with the people who live in and near his shooting locations.
