Featuring Nano Surface Coating Fitting in Slim, Compact Body

The DMC-ZS30(TZ40) incorporates advanced lens system of 24mm ultra wide angle 20x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens (35mm camera equivalent: 24-480mm), which is outstanding in class for its quality and versatility. Maintaining its high-powered zooming capability, the body profile is now even slimmer than the predecessor. Comprising 12 elements in 10 groups including 3 aspherical lenses with 6 aspherical surfaces and 2 ED lenses, adoption of ultra thin lens for its optical system makes the unit’s overall length short to fit in the slim body despite its versatile zoom range from 24mm ultra wide angle to 20x telephoto. Thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology, the Intelligent Zoom is available with the DMC-ZS30(TZ40) which further extends the zoom ratio to 40x equivalent with minimum deterioration of picture quality even combining the digital zoom. The Panasonic’s black box technology Nano Surface Coating boasts extremely low reflectance ratio and it is applied to DMC-ZS30(TZ40) for exceptional optical performance with stunning clarity by minimizing flare and ghost.

4. New 16.1-Megapixel High Sensitivity MOS Sensor and Venus Engine and
LEICA DC Lens for High Speed Response and High Picture Quality

The new 16.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor is integrated in the DMC-TS5(FT5) to further enhances its high performance signal processing. Together with the high performance image processing LSI Venus Engine, it elevates the response, sensitivity and image quality of the DMC-TS5(FT5) even to the higher level. Integrating the high speed digital signal output technology, the camera shoots not only 60p(NTSC) / 50p (PAL) full HD video but also burst shots at 10 fps* in full resolution with mechanical shutter and 5 fps with continuous AF. It also contributes to the Light Speed AF. Together with the quick start-up time, the DMC-TS5(FT5) never misses the most fleeting shooting opportunities.
Newly adopted Wavelet NR (Noise Reduction) system** in the Venus Engine enables deliberate noise reduction process without missing low-frequency noise by enlarging its detection area by approx.64x***. It results in the high sensitivity image recording even at ISO3200.
The high energy efficiency and the adoption of new large capacity battery results in the extended battery life by approx. 20 % enabling shooting approx.370 pictures per a single charge (CIPA).
The DMC-TS5(FT5) incorporates a high-quality LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR 28mm wide-angle lens with a 4.6x optical zoom (35mm equivalent: 28-128mm) in folded optics. Comprising 10 elements and a prism unit in 8 groups, including 1 ED lens and 5 aspherical lenses with 6 aspherical surfaces passing the Leica’s stringent standards to deliver exceptional optical performance to the edges. Thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology, the Intelligent Zoom is available with the DMC-TS5(FT5) which virtually extends the zoom ratio to 9.3x equivalent maintaining the picture quality even combining the digital zoom.
* Max 7 images.
** Works in high sensitivity image recording at ISO800 or higher.
*** Panasonic comparison with DMC-ZS20(TZ30).

Digital Still Camera
DMC-LZ30
A Powerful 35x Optical Zoom Shooting Style Compact Camera
New LUMIX DMC-LZ30
Featuring iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode and 720p HD Video Recording
* 35mm camera equivalent: 25-875mm
Panasonic unveils a new shooting style digital compact camera LUMIX DMC-LZ30 with powerful 35x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 25-875mm) lens with Optical Image Stabilizer. The 16.1-megapixel high resolution CCD and high performance image processing LSI powerfully supports shooting high quality photo and video.
The iA (Intelligent Auto) mode lets users leave everything to the camera to take beautiful images with its Optical Image Stabilizer, Face Detection, Intelligent Scene Selector and Intelligent Exposure. Once you enter the iA mode, these multi-capable functions happen automatically, so that you can shoot without the bother of adjusting settings every time conditions change.
DMC-LZ30 is also capable of recording HD video in 720p. The popular Creative Control and Creative Retouch are newly available with a total of 10 (Creative Control) / 11 (Creative Retouch) attracting filter effects. Panorama Shot and HDR (High Dynamic Range) are also incorporated in DMC-LZ30. The 3.0-inch large 460,000-dot LCD assures high visibility in any lighting circumstances, which is excellent for both shooting and playing back images. Its design is well studied ergonomically to offer stable, comfortable grip even holding a camera long time.

1. Highly Versatile 25 mm Wide Angle Powerful 35x Optical Zoom Lens
in a Compact Body

The DMC-LZ30 features 25 mm wide angle lens with a 35x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 25-875mm). Comprising of 14 elements in 10 groups including 3 ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens and 1 dual-sided aspherical lens, this advanced lens unit realizes the outstandingly compact body. The Extra Optical Zoom function that extends zoom power to 78.8x (at 3-megapixel resolution) by using the center part of the 16.1-megapixel high resolution CCD to bring subjects even closer. Not only drawing near the subject distant away with its powerful optical zoom, the 25 mm ultra wide angle lens captures wider angle of view compared with a standard 35mm camera. It is helpful for shooting dynamic landscape or indoor group portrait. Blurring image due to handshake often occurs in shooting using high zoom, however, the Optical Image Stabilizer minimizes it without causing deterioration of image quality. Linking smoothly with the 16.1-megapixel high resolution CCD sensor, the image processor reproduces high quality image even in high sensitivity recording at ISO1600 and max. ISO6400 with High Sensitivity mode.

2. iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode and Manual Exposure

Panasonic incorporated the Intelligent Auto mode in pursuit of the ultimate ease of operation and the reduction of miss-shots. The mode is a comprehensive integration of Optical Image Stabilizer, Face Detection, Intelligent Scene Selector and Intelligent Exposure – the camera does all the work, leaving you free to compose shots, aim and shoot the subject. The Face Detection sets appropriate AF/AE on the face of people while removing the unwanted red-eye. The Intelligent Exposure corrects the brightness in parts of the image that are too dark due to insufficient lighting, backlighting or use of the flash. The Intelligent Scene Selector automatically selects whichever of 6 Scene modes – Macro, Portrait, Scenery, Night Portrait, Night Scenery and Sunset – that best suit the shooting situation. While offering a convenient shooting-assist function such as iA, DMC-LZ30 is equipped with P / M mode for users a step above the beginners to enjoy more creative photography.

3. High Quality 720P Video Recording and Instant Image Sharing
with Family and Friends

The DMC-LZ30 records dynamic HD video in 1280 x 720p in Motion JPEG. Recording motion image can be started with a press of an independent motion picture button on the top of the camera, which is extremely convenient for users to switch photo / video shooting instantly. Zooming is also available to draw subjects distant away. Users can also sort and archive the images via a bundled software PHOTOfunSTUDIO Ver. 9.0 LE and upload them to the social networking services like Facebook™ or YouTube™ on the sideways.
• Use a card with SD Speed Class* with "Class 6" or higher when recording motion pictures.
* SD speed class is the speed standard regarding continuous writing.

[For Europe]
• Motion pictures can be recorded continuously for up to 15 minutes. Also, continuous recording exceeding 2GB is not possible. Remaining time for continuous recording is displayed on the screen.

[For other regions]
• Motion pictures can be recorded continuously up to 2 GB. The maximum available recording time for up to 2 GB only is displayed on the screen.

4. Other Features to Enhance the Performance of Cameras

The DMC-LZ30 newly integrates popular Creative Control and Creative Retouch. The Creative Control lets users shoot with a filter effect (Expressive, Retro, Low Key, High Key, Sepia, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, High Dynamic, Cross Process and One Point Color) while checking how it makes difference on the picture, which can be used for video recording, too*. The Creative Retouch enables applying a filter effect (Retro, Low Key, High Key, Sepia, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, High Dynamic, Toy Effect, Miniature Effect, Star Filter and One Point Color) on the picture after shooting in camera.
The Panorama Shot makes it possible to shoot a horizontal / vertical panoramic image with consequent shots taken by overlaying the previous picture. With the new HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode, several photos are consecutively shot at different exposure level to make a single composite picture without whiteout (over-exposure) or blackout (under-exposure) even in difficult lighting conditions.
* Impressive Art cannot be used for video recording.

Digital Still Camera
DMC-SZ9
The New 16.1-Megapixel Slim, Stylish Digital Camera DMC-SZ9 with Wi-Fi®
Featuring Full-HD Video Recording and Rich Creative Options
Panasonic is pleased to announce a new 10x optical zoom compact camera DMC-SZ9 that integrates 1920 x 1080 full-HD video recording and Wi-Fi® connectivity (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) in a slim, stylish profile.
The versatile 25mm ultra wide angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with powerful 10x optical zoom (equivalent to 25mm to 250mm on a 35mm camera) even features the Intelligent Zoom function, making it possible to extend the zoom ratio up to 20x using Panasonic’s Intelligent Resolution technology and digital zoom. The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) effectively suppress handshake which tends to occur when shooting with high zoom.
The image processing by the 16.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS Sensor and the Venus Engine excels not only in picture quality but also in its processing speed. It enables 1920 x 1080 full-HD 60i (NTSC) / 50i (PAL) smooth video recording and various high speed photo shooting in addition to the quick response which is available throughout the operation.
With the Wi-Fi® connectivity, users can connect the camera directly to their smartphone/tablet anywhere without a need of cabling or searching a Wi-Fi® hotspot. In addition, users can utilize smartphone/tablet for another monitor of camera that enables setting focus, zooming or releasing the shutter away from the spot where the camera is positioned. With the new Instant Transfer function, photos are automatically sent to the designated electronic devices such as smartphones/tablets right after shooting. On the other hand, both photo and video in their original size can be archived to the registered digital equipment such as PC automatically via the wireless access point (router) at home whenever the battery is charged to archive the data. It is also possible to play back the images in the camera directly on the HDTV with Wi-Fi Direct™ function*.
A variety of special effects that add fun to shooting experience are integrated in DMC-SZ9 – Creative Control, Creative Retouch, Creative Panorama and Beauty Retouch. For beginners, LUMIX’s popular shooting assist function iA (Intelligent Auto) mode is also advanced to help shooting beautiful photo / video without mistake.
* Using [Playback on TV] of the Wi-Fi function, you can display images on a TV that supports the Digital Media Renderer (DMR) function of the DLNA standard.

1. 25mm Ultra Wide-Angle LEICA DC Lens with 10x Powerful Optical Zoom
Featuring an Optical System with Sliding Structure

The DMC-SZ9 incorporates 25mm ultra wide angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with powerful 10x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 25-250mm) to boast high versatility despite the camera’s slim, stylish profile. Comprising 9 elements in 7 groups including 4 aspherical lenses with 6 aspherical surfaces, adoption of sliding structure of its optical system makes the unit's overall length short to fit in the slim body despite its versatile zoom range from ultra wide to telephoto. Passing Leica's stringent standards, DMC-SZ9 boasts exceptional optical performance with stunning clarity with minimum distortion and flare. The iA Zoom (Intelligent Zoom) – an extensive zoom function using digital zoom and Panasonic’s Intelligent Resolution technology – draws the subject even closer than the original optical zoom with minimum deterioration of image quality. This means the 10x optical zoom can virtually extend to 20x equivalent.

2. 16.1-Megapixel MOS Sensor and Venus Engine for
High Speed, High Sensitivity Image Recording in Photo and Full HD Video

The new 16.1-megapixel MOS sensor integrated in DMC-SZ9 boasts high speed signal output and high sensitivity image recording for making many advanced features possible. The excellent S/N ratio of MOS sensor and the Intelligent Noise Reduction system in the Venus Engine makes both photo and video shot at any sensitivity from low to high boast outstanding clearness.
The high speed digital signal output technology lets the DMC-SZ9 shoot at 10 fps in high speed burst mode with mechanical shutter or at 5 fps with continuous AF, and burst shooting with flash is also available. The frame rate and AF setting can be easily selected according to the movement of the subject. The DMC-SZ9 boasts Light Speed AF that helps to catch even the most fleeting photo opportunities together with a quick start-up.
It also enables the camera to record 1920 x 1080 full-HD 60i (NTSC) / 50i (PAL) smooth video in AVCHD*. Alternately, user can choose MP4 at 30p (NTSC) / 25p (PAL) for video recording, which has higher compatibility with PCs. A special, separate button on the top lets the user instantly start recording videos while shooting photos without having to make any extra settings. The powerful 10x optical zoom is available in video recording, too. The popular iA (Intelligent Auto) can also be used in video recording. The videos also come with the high-quality stereo sound of Dolby® Digital, to offer highly realistic sound to the motion images. The stereo microphone comes with zoom noise reduction system, and the Auto Wind Cut function blocks out most of the noise from background wind.
* Sensor output is 30p (NTSC) / 25p (PAL).
• Use a card with SD Speed Class* with "Class 4" or higher when recording videos.
* SD Speed Class is the speed standard regarding continuous writing.

3. Shoot, View, Share Images in More Flexible Way with Wi-Fi® Connectivity

The DMC-SZ9 integrates a Wi-Fi® connectivity (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) for users to enjoy flexible shooting style and instant image sharing with easy operation. With a smartphone/tablet, remote shooting is available which means that users gain another control and monitor to utilize. Just placing a camera at a shooting position, users can go away from it. What the camera is seeing is displayed live at smooth 30 fps on the smartphone/tablet and zooming, setting focus, shutter release and several recording settings such as exposure compensation are controllable with a smartphone/tablet. Newly added Instant Transfer function allows the camera to transfer the photo data to the designated electronic devices automatically whenever shutter is released. Also, Users can tag the location information to the image by utilizing the GPS (Global Positioning System) log of a smartphone/tablet and share it to the preferred SNS (Social Networking Service). All these flexible shooting / browsing / sharing style are made possible with the DMC-SZ9 and the Panasonic's dedicated application software “Panasonic Image App” for iOS / Android smartphones/tablets.
Archiving images is troublesome as they increase but the DMC-SZ9 does it all for you during battery charging by transferring the data to PC or other compliant Panasonic AV devices automatically via the wireless access point (router) at home. The camera always tells what images are new and automatically upload them only. Also, users can save precious record of memory to the Panasonic's exclusive cloud service “LUMIX CLUB”. In this cloud service, personal folder is allotted to the DMC-SZ9 users to upload image data anytime and they can choose to transfer the image saved at this space to Facebook™, Flickr™, Picasa™, Twitter™ or YouTube™. With the Cloud Sync. Service, not only full-resolution photos but also MP4 videos in full-HD quality can be synchronized among the compliant electronic devices you are using (e.g. PC, smartphone/tablet and AV equipment) or transferred to the web services as you like.
The Wi-Fi Direct™ function allows direct playback of images on the DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) – compliant VIERA HDTV*.
* Using [Playback on TV] of the Wi-Fi function, you can display images on a TV that supports the Digital Media Renderer (DMR) function of the DLNA standard. Please check the following website about the compatible devices for details. http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/

4. Creative Control, Creative Retouch and Creative Panorama

The DMC-SZ9 integrates popular Creative Control and Creative Retouch featuring a total of 14 filter effects - Retro, Expressive, High Key, Low Key, Sepia, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, High Dynamic, Cross Process, Toy Effect, Miniature Effect, Soft Focus, Star Filter and One Point Color. The Creative Control lets users shoot with a filter effect while checking how it makes difference on the picture, which can be used for video recording, too*. The Creative Retouch enables applying a filter effect on the picture even after shooting in camera.
With the new Creative Panorama function, it is possible to shoot a horizontal / vertical panoramic image with consequent shots taken by overlaying the previous picture and to put on a filter effect of Retro, Expressive, High Key, Low Key, Sepia, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, High Dynamic, Cross Process, Soft Focus, Star Filter and One Point Color.
The Beauty Retouch mode lets users make up the human faces virtually to look them nicer. This mode is advanced with additional options to make a human face in picture look smiling, sharper or look eyes brighter and bigger. One-touch Make Up mode offers 5 patterns of latest trend make-up – Natural, Smokey, Glamour, Cheerful and Elegant.
* Soft Focus and Star Filter cannot be used in video recording.

5. Other Features to Enhance the Performance of Cameras

- HDR (High Dynamic Range) – Several photos are consecutively shot at different exposure level to make a single composite a good-looking picture without whiteout (over-exposure) or blackout (under-exposure) even in difficult lighting conditions.
- iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode for Photo and Video
- HDMI Compatibility – DMC-SZ9 is equipped with a terminal for HDMI micro cable*, which makes it extremely easy to playback photo and video on HDMI-compliant HDTV.
- AC / USB Power Charging – The camera’s battery can be recharged either via AC or via USB according to the users’ convenience.

Comprising of 6 elements in 5 groups with 3 aspherical lenses with 5 aspherical surfaces, the lens unit realized downsizing of both total length and diameter to be packed in the world’s slimmest body profile*. The 24mm ultra wide angle lens gives photographers a wider range of composition possibilities with approx. 213% larger viewing space compared to that of 35mm camera. It captures more subjects in limited focusing distance and is good for shooting group portrait, indoor objects or dynamic landscapes. For distant subjects, the Intelligent Zoom can be used for the extended magnification to 8x by combining digital zoom with minimum deterioration of image quality.
The 16.1-megapixel of large image sensor offers high resolution image so that it is still affordable to crop the part you want to enlarge out of the picture after shooting.
* For a digital compact camera with optical 5x retractable zoom and O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer), as of January 7, 2013

2. Creative Control, Creative Retouch and Creative Panorama

The DMC-XS1 integrates popular Creative Control and Creative Retouch featuring a total of 13 filter effects – Retro, Expressive, High Key, Low Key, Sepia, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, High Dynamic, Cross Process, Toy Effect, Miniature Effect, Soft Focus and One Point Color. The Creative Control lets users shoot with a filter effect while checking how it makes difference on the picture, which can be used for video recording, too*. The Creative Retouch enables applying a filter effect on the picture even after shooting in camera.
With the new Creative Panorama function, it is possible to shoot a horizontal / vertical panoramic image with consequent shots taken by overlaying the previous picture and to put on a filter effect of Retro, Expressive, High Key, Low Key, Sepia, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, High Dynamic, Soft Focus, Cross Process and One Point Color.
* Soft Focus cannot be used in video recording.

3. High Quality 720P Video Recording and Instant Image Sharing
with Family and Friends

The DMC-XS1 records dynamic HD video in 1280 x 720p. Recording motion image can be started with a press of an independent motion picture button on the back of the camera, which is extremely convenient for users to switch photo / video shooting instantly.

4. The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) and the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode
Powerfully Assists Shooting Beautiful Images

Panasonic incorporated the iA (Intelligent Auto) mode in pursuit of the ultimate ease of operation and the reduction of misshots. The user can activate all of these useful, convenient shooting-assist functions by just activating an iA mode.
The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) is integrated in the iA mode for DMC-XS1 to suppress hand-shake. Apart from the digital image correction, MEGA O.I.S. corrects a jolt of light axis by shifting the O.I.S. lens unit to offset it. Thus the image is not affected digitally nor deteriorated at all. You get clear, sharp images in exchange for nothing. In addition, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Intelligent Exposure and Face Detection automatically work for users to get the best result.

5. Other Features to Enhance the Performance of Cameras

- Auto Retouch – Auto Retouch function that adjusts contrast and brightness to give different impression to the photo with just a press of a button to look it nicer.
- microSD/SDHC Card Compatibility – Photo and video data are recorded in ultra-small microSD/SDHC Card, which also has high acceptability of major smartphones.
- AC / USB Power Charging – The camera’s battery can be recharged either via AC or via USB according to the users’ convenience.

Featuring 720p HD Video Recording with Motion Picture Button
Panasonic is introducing a new 14.1-megapixel LUMIX DMC-F5 that incorporates 28mm wide angle 5x optical zoom lens (35mm camera equiv: 28-140mm). Running on a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, the slim, stylish DMC-F5 offers simple operation which is easy enough even for very beginners.

The Auto Scene Selector detects the scene and set best parameter depending on the situation and subject - Macro, Portrait, Landscape, Night Portrait, Night Landscape and Sunset.
The DMC-F5 newly integrates the popular Panorama Shot mode, making it possible to shoot a horizontal / vertical panoramic image with consequent shots taken by overlaying the previous picture in camera.
