Fast and easy pushbutton operation.
With some cameras, you can't quickly find and change settings because they're buried deep in the menu, or because retrieving them requires several steps. This may cause you to simply leave the settings unchanged. This doesn't happen with the DMC-L10. Six settings — picture size, quality, OIS MODE, ISO sensitivity, white balance, and flash — can be displayed for quick and easy changing by simply pressing a Function button.
Just keep the shutter button pressed to fire off consecutive shots (3 frames or 2 frames per second with full resolution) of a moving subject or a person's changing facial expression*. When there are no RAW files, pictures can be taken until the capacity of the card becomes full. (The focus and exposure are fixed at the first frame.)**
*The speed of the consecutive shooting varies depending on the memory card. The number of recordable picture depends on the memory card size, battery life, picture size, and compression.
**The burst speed will become slower halfway. The exact timing of this depends on the picture size, the setting for [QUALITY] and the type of card used.

The place on the camera back where you rest your right-hand thumb and palm curves gently toward the front grip section. The surface texture assures a gentle fit and prevents slipping. The DMC-L10 feels just right in your hands from the moment you first pick it up. The ergonomic grip allows secure, comfortable holding, while giving added support to active shooting styles, delicate focusing, and slow-speed shooting.

When the 1.2x magnifier eyecup provided with the DMC-L10 is attached to the eyepiece, the viewfinder image is enlarged by 1.2 times. This makes it easier to capture the subject and adjust the focus, thus, it helps to use the viewfinder more conveniently and flexibly in different shooting situations.

The self-timer is able to take three consecutive shots. Never again will you have to reset the self-timer because somebody blinked. Just choose the best one from the three consecutive shots.

Mounting the Panasonic DMW-FL500 / FL360 TTL external flash unit onto the L10 hot shoe gives you precise TTL light control of the high-powered flash, and lets you use the versatile functions of the flash.
Linked with the L10's light-metering functions, the DMW-FL500/360 uses a TTL light adjustment system to measure the light that actually strikes the Live MOS Sensor, then adjusts the flash intensity accordingly. The result is flash photos with outstanding exposure.
The FL500 has a guide number of 50, the FL360 has 36 (ISO 100/m). The angle zoom function covers a lens range of 24-85mm (35mm camera equivalent). Using the built-in wide panel further extends coverage to a view angle of 18mm. The firing angle can also be automatically changed to create a bounce lighting effect.
