Creative HD Movie in AVCHD Lite

Extended, High-resolution Movies HD Movie Recording in AVCHD Lite

The DMC-G2 can record 1,280 x 720 high-definition motion images in AVCHD Lite that features long recording time and high compatibility with audio-visual equipment. You can enjoy recording HD motion images taking maximum advantage of lens' descriptiveness and interchangeability or the large sensor size. HD Motion JPEG in 1,280 x 720 can also be selected as an alternative movie recording format, which is more compatible with computers.

In addition, the DMC-G2 features the new image processing technology “Intelligent Resolution*1”, incorporated in the Venus Engine. By detecting the signals whether they are at edges of the subject, they compose detailed texture or just a soft gradation first and give appropriate enhancement to the edges and textured areas respectively. Unlike the uniform enhancement of sharpness, the innovative Intelligent Resolution precisely performs optimum signal processing to give a whole image outstandingly natural clearness with fine details. As a result, images are naturally clear and crisp in movie recording as well as photo recording.

Easy Recording of Professional-like Movies Creative Movie Functions

With the DMC-G2, you can try professional-like movie recording with a variety of options like you do with photo recording. The My Color Mode and Film Modes can be used to record movies. And the Motion Picture P Mode lets you change even the depth of field in the appropriate exposure like program shifting by rotating the rear dial*.

*As the aperture is controlled within a certain range to get an adequate exposure in this mode, an actual aperture setting would not be changed in response to the movement of selection cursor, depending on the brightness of the subject. *1 Some functions in the iA Mode will not be available depending on the lens that is mounted.
*2 The iA Mode functions can also be activated by button operation.
*3 With some subject and shooting conditions, it is just not possible to judge the best shooting details. When this happens, it is recommended that you shoot with the Scene Mode that best suits your purpose.

Capturing Impressive Still and Movie Images Together Still Image Recording in Movie Recording

Cut Animation

In addition, you can copy a number of frames during playback of an HD movie to produce high-quality photos thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology.

Easy Editing Right in the Camera Video Divide

You can divide a single video into two parts using only the camera. This is handy for compiling memorable scenes, and deleting unwanted scenes to free up space on your memory card while you are traveling.

Seamless Slideshows with Still and Motion Images

Now there are more slideshow options. And they can be used with both still and motion images, for recollecting memorable moments in seamless, chronological order. You can also select and play only still images, only motion images, or only AVCHD Lite motion images. Choose whichever slideshow you like the best.
