Creating the vision for a brighter education
[Energy-Saving Design] Directly connected to reducing CO2 emissions.
A highly efficient lamp that combines a long operating life and low power consumption
Panasonic developed its high-efficiency UHM lamp units by drawing on the strength of its Group companies to develop all essential parts. By embedding an aspherical mirror that increases reflection efficiency, and an AC lamp with improvements over ultrahigh pressure mercury lamps, we have succeeded in suppressing power consumption compared to average large-scale projectors especially those using xenon lamps. In addition, the PT-F300 Series features an original lamp drive system that requires no lamp replacement for up to 5,000 hours.

Compared to previous Panasonic models, both the power consumption and CO2 emissions have been decreased by 32%, while providing the same brightness.
*Calculated as 1,560 hours per year, assuming 6 hours of operation a day, 260 days a year. *The unit used for CO2 conversion is "0.39 kg CO2/kWH" (based on data published by Japan's Ministry of the Environment). **Based on the data from the Japanese Ministry of the Environment, a Cedar tree consumes 14kg of CO2 /year.
Daylight View dramatically improves visibility, even without increasing the lamp wattage.
Excellent visibility is achieved by improving color reproduction, even under bright lighting. Because it produces easy-to-see images without having to increase the lamps' output power, it helps to reduce power consumption.

Auto Power Save detects when
there is no signal input.
PT-D12000 Series, PT-D6000 Series and PT-F300 Series are equipped with the Auto Power Save function, which activates standby mode when no signal is being input.

The PT-D6000 Series have attained a low stand-by power level of 0.2 W*, which is a top-class level for the projector industry. It also helps to slash running costs, and reduces environmental impact.

* For North American models. European and Asian models are 0.3 W.

[Ecological Design] Reducing the environmental impact throughout the product lifecycle
Compliance with the RoHS
Directive.
As a result of Panasonic's high awareness to the environment, we achieved full compliance with the RoHS Directive (in July 2006) more than six months prior to the required date, and all Panasonic products (31,400 models in total) satisfied the RoHS Directive criteria. Using highly advanced chemical substance test instruments, we thoroughly checked all production stages, even down to the level of materials, to ensure a fully compliant manufacturing system.

Using Lenses That Contain Minimal Hazardous Substances.
Panasonic projectors are virtually lead-free. We are also working to eliminate the lead from lenses that are exempted from the RoHS Directve. These efforts help to reduce adverse effects on the environment for future generations.
Careful consideration even for
packaging materials.

No polyethylene is used in the cushioning materials when packaging Panasonic projectors.* Instead, an air cushion material designed by our engineers is used, to further reduce environmental impact.

*Excluding certain models.

‘eco ideas’ from Panasonic
On October 5, 2007, Panasonic announced ‘eco ideas’ strategy to accelerate its activities to realize one of the twin business visions, ‘Coexistence with the global environment’, and promised to promote three ‘eco ideas’ initiatives. We are committed to ‘Advanced eco’ in all our activities, as well as reducing CO2 emissions from our production activities, and will implement our ‘eco ideas’ Declaration as the pillar for our environmental sustainability management activities. The declaration focuses on the following three initiatives:
‘eco ideas’ for Products
We will produce energy-efficient products.
Panasonic focuses on global warming prevention as the most critical issue by increasing the number of products with the No.1 energy-efficient performance and phasing out low energy-efficient products, as well as accelerate the development of environmentally conscious products with recyclable design and careful choices of materials.
‘eco ideas’ for Manufacturing
We will reduce CO2 emissions across all our manufacturing sites.
Focusing on reduction of CO2 emissions by improving productivity across all manufacturing processes, such as R&D, procurement, manufacturing, sales, logistics, recycling, administration, and others.
‘eco ideas’ for Everybody, Everywhere
We will encourage the spread of environmental activities throughout the world.
Panasonic will spread eco activities to the local communities throughout the world in cooperation with various stakeholders focusing on environmental initiatives by employees and their families
