Panasonic SD Memory Cards received the photokina STAR 2012 Award at photokina 2012, the world's largest trade fair for the photographic and imaging industries, held from September 18 to 23 in Koln, Germany.
The awarded products were new SD Memory Cards holding 4 to 64 gigabytes that launched into the market this summer as unified worldwide models. There are 12 models in all consisting of three series: Gold (SDUB), Silver (SDRB) and Blue (SDLB). The entire lineup features "6 durability performance factors" that provide excellent waterproofing, electrostatic resistance, and magnetic resistance etc.. They also carry the PROOF7 mark, which increases safety with a Fuse function that prevents the card from overheating or catching on fire in the event that excessive current or abnormal heating results from damage to the card interior.
The Gold and Silver Series incorporate a Multi Level Cell (MLC) flash memory that increases the operating life and minimizes errors. These tough, long lasting SD Memory Cards, which provide users with extended, reliable operation, are being promoted worldwide.
As high-value-added cameras, from mirrorless system cameras to high-performance digital SLR models, increasingly gain popularity, Panasonic's large-capacity, fast-writing SD Memory Cards — backed by toughness and safety — are widely considered to be optimal for professional photography use.
