Family Day (Saturday, Sep 6, 2008)

Panasonic Asia Family Day is held every alternate year with the purpose to:
- Show appreciation to the employees and their families and
- Build good relationships among employees
There were 220 employees (84% participation) and 510 family members attended the event, even though it was held on a Saturday.
The event was held in the foyer of the Singapore Flyer. It was also a location that is closely linked to F1 Grand Prix race track, first time ever to be held in Singapore.
While the "Eco Fashion Show" performance continued on stage, there were also numerous game stalls for the children and special performance around the foyer and everyone had a pleasant time.

With a diameter of 150m and height of 165m, the highlight of the flyer was to catch a bird’s eye view of Singapore. We could see our office tower (The Concourse), cargo vessels that were parked at Singapore Harbor, F1 Grand Prix race track, high-rise buildings, developments for casino and amusement park, etc.
By participating in the Family Day, we saw the energetic and shining pride of each employee, the strong teamwork and friendship formed under the name of Panasonic and the bonding with family members. It was indeed an encouraging weekend for everyone.
Tree Planting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong (Sunday, Nov 2, 2008)

On November 2, 2008, we had a tree-planting event with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the local residents of the Ang Mo Kio GRC/Yio Chu Kang SMC. Panasonic sponsored 200 fruit trees saplings. A total of 500 Panasonic staff and their families participated in this activity.
PM Lee arrived and the activity was officially launched. Together with the managing directors of the Panasonic companies in Singapore, Mr. Miyamoto was invited to the VIP plot for a tree planting ceremony with PM Lee and other VIPs. After the ceremony, Panasonic received an appreciation plaque from PM Lee for our support.
After touring around the exhibits, Mr. Miyamoto got a chance to exchange ideas with PM Lee on Eco.
PM Lee showed strong support for our environmental activities. I also updated him on our ‘eco ideas' declaration.

This is an interesting and meaningful activity, especially for the children, to learn how to appreciate nature. Through environmental events like this, we hope to enhance a strong commitment towards ‘eco ideas' among employees and their families.
