Panasonic Deutchland Planted 1,200 Trees in Natural Reserve

In accordance with Panasonic Corporation’s eco ideas initiative, activity which promotes the concept of Eco Ideas and which demonstrates a strong engagement with employees or the wider community.

In cooperation with the ‘Nature Protection Fund LK Harburg' and the ‘Fund Nature Reserve Lueneburger Heide' Panasonic planted 1.200 trees in the moorland Lueneburger Heide south of Hamburg.

The project’s goal is to protect the environment and also to improve the quality of the ground water for Hamburg.

92 Panasonic staff members (including Managing Director Kitagawa) planted trees in the area which has the size of one hectare (100x100 meters). Instead of working at their desk, the participants dug holes for the trees and/or set up a fence around the planting area.

Hafen City Run 2009

Panasonic Deutschland (PDE) employees participated in an annual charity run “Children help Children" in the Hamburg harbor area. The more participants that take part, the higher the donation to Hamburger Abendblatt’s charitable association “Children help Children" which has supported the city’s needy inhabitants for more than 30 years. To date, the initiative has enabled more than 2000 children and young people from low-income families to become members of sports clubs.

The number of entries for the event continues to grow and the 2007 run raised a staggering 105,000 Euro Dollars.
