Creating people-friendly products

Creating people-friendly products

Here you can learn about our thinking on universal design in our products. See the outcomes of research in pursuit of ease of use for more people in terms of sound, color, position, size and shape. You can also see sophisticated examples of welfare equipment.

Panasonic's 6 basic factors of Unicersal Design

  • Easy-to-understand operation
  • Natural posture and ease of movement
  • Peace of mind and security
  • Uncomplicated displays and indicators
  • Space to support easy access
  • Consideration of how product is used and maintained

Study on sounds

Voice Guide helps users operate an apparatus and corrects their erroneous operations. To make Voice Guide more usable, we create audio standards by studying voices, the speed at which people talk and other audio factors. You can experience the voice guidance with our facsimile model “Otakkusu”. It’s easy to understand.

Study on Comfortable moves

Usability assessment technologies help you objectively see vague sensibilities that a human being has. By adopting the technologies, our products advance usability and our ideas to eliminate troublesome operations and chores. Experience how easily you can put clothes into and take them out of “a tilted-drum type washer ⁄ dryer”.

Study on eye-friendliness

Our study on cataracts and color vision deficiency is reflected in the indications and button colors of our products, which are easy to see and understand for the broadest possible number of users. Use “a cataract goggle” to experience how things look to people with cataracts.

Examples showcase

Panasonic is also committed to developing products for users with a variety of disabilities. “Transfer Assist Robot” enables disabled users to change vehicles. You will also see “Monoshiri (Knowledgeable) Talk”, “Let’s Chat” and many other features.
