KWN International Exchange Program held in Japan

japan

On August 5, Al Majid Model School, the winning school of KWN Contest in the United Arab Emirates this year, visited its fellow KWN participant, Sumiyoshi Secondary School Attached to Kobe University. The students from the UAE introduced traditional UAE folk costume and Arabic writing, while the Japanese students introduced Japanese calligraphy, soap bubbles, and Japanese sweets. It was an excellent chance for children from both schools to learn about each other's cultures.

Following this, on August 26 four elementary school students from Wanquan Primary School in Beijing, China, visited Seka Elementary school in Hyogo Prefecture for a cultural exchange meeting. Wanquan Primary School has participated in the KWN Program since 2006, while Seka Elementary School has been part of it since 2008. After watching and giving comments on each other's KWN entry video works for last year, the Chinese children danced a traditional Chinese dance and the Japanese children performed the Yosakoi Dance. The rhythm and enthusiasm of the Yosakoi Dance brought the students closer together all at once.
