Panasonic is working on our 'Love the Earth Citizens' Campaign,' known as the LE Campaign to actively promote activities such as 'household eco-account books,' 'eco bags,' and environmental volunteer work for all employees and their families.
The LE campaign celebrated ten years this July, as a first step towards its global development, a total of 130,000 employees in Japan and China are participating in a campaign to reduce CO2 emissions.
By initiatives such as eco bags and having days for not driving to the offices, we are able to achieve CO2 emission reduction effects that work out to 9,300 tons per year.

We now plan to establish 'open factories that achieve coexistence with local communities' through allowing residents to view on-site initiatives directly and providing them with a variety of eco experiences, in addition of course to the disclosure of detailed information.
At present, specific contents are under discussion for an 'eco ideas' Factory Biwako at the Kusatsu site in Shiga Prefecture, which would serve as a model site.
We will now develop 'eco ideas' factories across the world, starting with the Amagasaki PDP factory and the Uozu semiconductor factory.
We are promoting initiatives to expand our activities across the world. China, in particular, has been designated a key region, and since its launch in April this year, we have been actively promoting the 'China Eco Project.'
First of all, in terms of environmentally-conscious manufacturing, we are actively promoting the acquisition of Chinese government-certified environmental labels, to make customers aware of the environmental performance of our products.
Next, we have an initiative to enable all factories to obtain 'clean production' audits -- the most representative environmental certification system in China -- so that the initiatives to reduce environmental impact in all of our Chinese factories can be objectively evaluated by third parties.
Finally, the 'Yellow Sea Ecoregion Support Project,' in partnership with WWF, was started this September. Though such wide-ranging environmental initiatives, we are aiming to become a No. 1 environmentally contributing company in China.
