Panasonic Selected in "Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index"

Panasonic, the leading brand by which Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. is known, is honored to be selected in Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) on Sep. 24th 2007, which consists of "Best in Class" companies in its approach to climate change disclosure. Panasonic is the only company selected in Household Durables sector.

The CDLI is a list of companies which have developed the most comprehensive climate change disclosure practices based on research on climate change practices of the world´s largest companies including the "Financial Times 500" corporations by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), which aims to create a lasting relationship between shareholders and corporations regarding the implications for shareholder value and commercial operations presented by climate change.

In the fifth research (CDP5), the project sent a questionnaire to 2400 companies, and 68 companies among FT 500 were selected in the CDLI.
