The ‘eco ideas’ Experience Road Show Rolled Out in India
Panasonic India Pvt. Ltd. (PI) hosted the ‘eco ideas’ Experience Road Show, an event for introducing Panasonic's environmentally-conscious products and initiatives, in a shopping mall in Chennai (formerly known as Madras), one of the largest cities in southern India, from September 24 to 27, 2009. PI called a press conference on September 24, attended by eighty influential local media outlets.
At the press conference, PI CEO Daizo Ito (photo) described Panasonic's corporate visions aiming for co-existence with the global environment, with a focus on three ‘eco ideas’ initiatives.
The ‘eco ideas’ experience exhibition zone presented an Eco Quiz using touch panels, an Eco Calculator, which illustrates the energy efficiency and CO2 emissions reduction performance of Panasonic's latest products, and the ‘eco ideas’ Globe displaying visitors' own eco declarations. Attracting approximately 20,000 visitors during the four-day period, the event helped increase people's awareness of environmental issues and deepen their understanding of Panasonic's latest environmental technologies while having fun from exhibits.
Panasonic is making brand-building efforts by promoting environmental communication in a fast-growing Indian market. In tandem with the sponsorship for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) as a green sponsor, our company features high-profile movie stars' eco messages to enhance the eco-friendly image of the Panasonic brand.
The press conference on September 24 saw the attendance of Neha Dhupia (photo), a famous Indian actress as Panasonic's environmental ambassador. "It's vital that each one of us does what he or she can do for the global environment. I myself am promoting the replacement of home appliances to energy-efficient models," said Neha, stressing the importance of environmental consciousness and values of green products.
In India, the ‘eco ideas’ Experience Road Show toured four major cities in September and October: Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi. The first running of the event held in Kolkata from September 10 to 13 was a great success, attracting over 30,000 visitors.
