Panasonic Exhibited in CEATEC JAPAN 2009
Panasonic's boothCEATEC JAPAN 2009, the largest IT and electronics exhibition in Asia was held from October 6 to 10 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, to the east of Tokyo with a theme of Digital Convergence -- Defining the Shape of Our Future. Exhibitions were made by 590 corporations and organizations from both inside and outside Japan, and Panasonic featured an exhibition in the Home & Personal Zone of the event.
With a concept of Excellent Connectivity for Greater Comfort and Ecology!, Panasonic introduced its latest technologies by product demonstrations and stage presentations. In three concept zones: Lifestyle with Virtually Zero CO2 Emissions, VIERA Future Technology in an Entire House, and Expanding VIERA Link, the Company appealed full HD 3D, a new lifestyle expanded by the VIERA Link, and more comfortable and ecological living.
“Lifestyle with Virtually Zero CO2 Emissions in an Entire House” zone
A presentation stage was set up to present more comfortable and ecological living achieved through energy saving, creation, and storage technologies connected to a home energy management system for intelligent control of energy use. Environmental technologies supporting this new way of living displayed in the booth included a household fuel cell co-generation system and lithium-ion batteries (exhibited for reference), as well as LED lights.
Other products displayed in this zone showed advanced environmental technologies such as the AC/DC Hybrid Wiring System which reduces energy loss through conversion from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) by using the DC generated from the fuel cells, solar cells, and storage batteries directly, without conversion to AC. In addition to this, a color & temperature dimmer lighting system which can allow the color of lighting to change to fit particular lifestyle areas.

In this zone, a full-HD 3D 50-inch plasma television, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player and 3D active shutter glasses, which were all announced at the end of September and exhibited for reference at CEATEC were revealed for the first time to the general public. A 103-inch PDP compatible with 4K2K (exhibited for reference), allowing full HD with four times the resolution, was also displayed. The full HD 3D and 4K2K technologies appealed to the public with unprecedentedly vivid realism that makes the viewer feel like they are inside the video.

Presentation stage of " Expanding VIERA Link "This zone offered new lifestyle solutions through the use of the VIERA Link in a wide variety of daily situations. Products on display included the Room Interlink, which allows contents recorded on a DIGA Blu-ray Disc recorder to be viewed in other rooms through a network connection, and products allowing recorded contents to be viewed when outside the house, such as VIERA Keitai mobile phone, Strada car navigation system, and VIERA One-seg mobile phone. Also on display were a recorder compatible with Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) broadcasts (exhibited for reference) and televisions allowing use of YouTube and Google Maps (exhibited for reference).
