Panasonic took part in the Singapore International Energy Week 2010 (SIEW), an international exhibition and conference for the energy industry held from October 27 to November 4, 2010 in Singapore, as a main sponsor for the first time.

Held annually, SIEW is an international energy event organized by the Singapore Energy Market Authority. This is the third year the event has been held. Under the theme of “Fuelling the Smart Energy Economy,” 14,000 people including government officials, business leaders, academics, investors, as well as representatives from energy-resource and environmental companies from 60 countries participated in various symposiums, conferences, and exhibitions. Panasonic participated in the Singapore Energy Summit, which was a main event held on November 1, as well as in an exhibition in the sponsors&rsquo exhibition corner, which was located at the entrance of the SUNTEC International Conference Hall, the main venue of SIEW.

Director Narito Shibaike of Panasonic’s Corporate Environmental Affairs Division participated in the Singapore Energy Summit as a panelist together with the leaders of the International Energy Agency (IEA) and talked in detail about the Panasonic vision of becoming the No.1 Green Innovation Company in the Electronics Industry and virtually zero CO₂ emissions from the entire home, which is the lifestyle advocated by our energy solution concept.
The exhibition corner for sponsoring companies featured Panasonic’ Future Zone and Current Zone. In the Future Zone, the energy management concept of energy creation, storage, and saving was described on panels. The concept video for virtually zero CO₂ emissions lifestyle was also shown along with solar panels and fuel batteries. In the Current Zone, eco home appliances (air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, EVOLTA batteries) that are marketed in Asia were exhibited in order to communicate Panasonic's environmental policy and comprehensive product capabilities to not only SIEW participants but also other visitors.
