October 17, 2012, Osaka, Japan －Industrial Devices Company, Panasonic Corporation has succeeded in commercializing “ the 1/3.06 type 13 mega pixel SmartFSI(※1) image sensor (model number: MN34130PL) ” used in compact digital cameras and WEB cameras. Newly developed image sensors realize even high-quality picture in every nook and corner of the picture, downsizing the picture-pick up part of compact digital cameras and WEB cameras.

In the compact digital camera market, the need for taking clear photographs of lightless night scene and of a picture in the dark room using the volume zone models typified by small types of cameras just the same in using high-end models has been increasingly required. To meet the market demand, the small in size image sensor with the same properties as the large-size image sensor has been required. In the WEB camera market used in PCs, image sensors able to take a photograph of high quality picture with small in size by advancing units and network circumstances have been required. To answer the market needs,　Industrial Devices Company, Panasonic Corporation has succeeded in commercializing “ the 1/3.06 type 13 mega pixel SmartFSI(※1) image sensor ”, which is realizing the high S/N properties as well as the high color reproducibility making a reproduction the color of the subject faithfully used in compact digital cameras and WEB cameras.
