See the manual supplied with your CD-R/RW writing software.

1-13.
My car audio unit does not recognize CD-R/RWs recorded with pf files(*.pfm, *.pfo, *.pfe, *.pfs).

1
Write a file created with IMAGE STUDIO to a CD-R/RW disc.
2
Are you saving your pf files in your root directory? pf files are not recognized unless they are written into the root directory.
3
Did you change the file extension of your pf file? If you change the file extension of your pf file before writing it to a CD-R/RW disc, the file will not be recognized.
4
Did you write more than the maximum number of files to the CD-R/RW disc? See below for the maximum number of pf files that can be written on one CD-R/RW disc. (Max. number of files, *.pfm = 10 files, *.pfo = 5 files, *.pfe = 5 files, *.pfs = 15 files)

1-14.

2. Create graphic pattern/Create opening message/Create closing message

2-1.
How do I create a movie?

Load a moving image file in the AVI or animation GIF format, and edit it with IMAGE STUDIO.

2-2.
How do I create a movie from still images?

You can create a scroll movie from a still image. You can also create a wipe movie from two still images.

2-3.
Can't save files.

This is because there is no data to save. Click [Capture] to load data and save it.

2-4.
I can no longer see the frames I want to use for creating the image.

1
Try by clicking [Edit] -> [Reset] (start/end) frame size/position]. This will reset the frame size and position to the defaults.
2
You may have opened a large image and dragged the frame to a part of the image that is not visible on the screen. In this case, try to scroll to the off-screen part using the scroll bars at the right and bottom of the image.
3
The start frame is shown in green and the end frame is shown in blue during scroll movie creating. When creating a wipe movie, an AVI movie, an animation GIF movie and a still picture, the frame is shown in blue.

2-5.
When I enlarge a frame, I get a vertically or horizontally extended image.

IMAGE STUDIO automatically adjusts the aspect ratio to the frame size. To restore the original aspect ratio, click [Edit] -> [Correct aspect ratio].

2-6.
I cannot open AVI files with IMAGE STUDIO.

1
Are you sure the format of your AVI files is the same as that described in 1-4.2?
Other AVI file types cannot be opened with IMAGE STUDIO.
2
Is Windows Media Player installed on your computer?
· If it is not installed, download it from the Microsoft web site and install it.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/
· If it is installed, can you play back the AVI file with Windows Media Player? If it is installed and you cannot play back the file, there is a possibility that no video codec is installed.

2-7.
When I load and play back an AVI file and an animation GIF file with IMAGE STUDIO, they play at a lower (higher) speed.

IMAGE STUDIO plays back AVI and animation GIF files at a speed of 10 frames per second. For example, if you load and play back an AVI file and an animation GIF file created at 20 frames per second, they will play at half the speed with which the original movies were created in the AVI and animation GIF formats respectively.

2-8.
When I created a wipe movie, I got a black background.

Did you load a background image with IMAGE STUDIO? Capturing without a background image will create a wipe movie whose background color is black. Check if a background image is loaded by pressing the [Background] button.

2-9.
When I loaded a file as background for a wipe movie, the settings I had made in advance for Count, Dithering and Effects returned to the previous settings.

A previously captured moving image is automatically overwritten when the [Capture] button is pressed newly. Save the captured image prior to that if necessary.

2-10.
Can't input the number of frames into the Count box.

You cannot input the number directly into the Count box. Use the spin buttons.

2-11.
Can't increase/decrease the number of frames in the Count box.

The number of frames in the count box is designated. The designated number depends on the car audio unit. See table below.

3. Create still image

3-1.
How do I create still images?

To create a still image, load a BMP, JPEG, PNG or GIF format image file into IMAGE STUDIO and edit it. With [Type tool] you can also insert text into a still image.

3-2.
I can no longer see the frame.

1
Try by clicking [Edit] -> [Reset frame size/position]. This will reset the frame size and position to the defaults.
2
You may have opened a large image and dragged the frame to a part of the image that is not visible on the screen. In this case, try to scroll to the off-screen part using the scroll bars at the right and bottom of the image.
3
When creating a still image, only one frame is displayed.

3-3.
When I enlarge a frame, I get a vertically or horizontally extended image.

IMAGE STUDIO automatically adjusts the aspect ratio to the frame size. To restore the original aspect ratio, click [Edit] -> [Correct aspect ratio].

3-4.
Can I load a photographic image?

Yes, you can load data of scanned photos or pictures, or photos taken with a digital camera by converting the data to a file format supported by IMAGE STUDIO (BMP, JPEG, PNG and GIF). For this you will need separate scanner software and file conversion software.

3-5.
Can I convert an AVI movie to a still image?

You cannot load AVI files in the still image creating mode.

3-6.
When I try to save my created moving pictures, the warning message, "File Save Failed", appears and the pictures cannot be saved.

The file name is invalid. In some cases, you can avoid this error by changing the file name. There are some characters that cannot be used for the file name depending on languages/OSes.
4. Type tool

4-1.
Can I change the position of text?

Move the mouse cursor to the Preview window on the Text Input Screen. The cursor changes to a "+". With the left mouse button pressed, you can now drag the text to the desired position.

4-2.
Can I rotate the text?

Yes, you can rotate your text by moving the [Rotate] slider on the Text Input Screen.

4-3.
When I changed the font, the text became garbled.

4-4.
The text I input is not displayed.

1
Did you select the same color for the text as for the background? Try by assigning different colors to the text and the background.

4-5.
Can I use several fonts at a time?

Only 1 font can be used at a time.

4-6.
The text I input appears garbled in the Preview window.

This can happen with some OS versions and languages. In some cases this problem can be solved by specifying the font.

4-7.
When I rotated the text, the rotation axis shifted.

This can happen with some fonts/font sizes when you input text extending over more than one line. In some cases this problem can be solved by changing the font/font size.

4-8.
Entered characters are garbled.

This phenomenon occurs in some characters (such as Chinese character). The phenomenon is not avoidable. Please use other characters.
5. Dithering

5-1.
When I turned on Dithering, the image turned completely black.

Dithering is the attempt by a computer program to approximate a color tone from a mixture of other colors when the required color is not available. The image may appear somewhat grainy since it is composed of different pixel intensities.

5-2.

This may happen when an image contains colors that are different, but have approximately the same brightness. Turn off Dithering, click [Details] and adjust the color balance with [RGB adjustment].

5-3.
Can't select Dithering.

1
Are you creating a move and haven't you clicked [Capture] yet? After capturing the data, you will be able to select Dithering.
2
You cannot add Dithering or Effects to moving image files (*.pfm, *.pfo, *.pfe) opened with [Edit movie].
6. Effects

6-1.
Can't select Effects.

Any effects you have added will not take effect until you click [OK]. If you change the type of effect or turn on Dithering and then play back in the Preview window before clicking [OK], the image returns to the condition immediately prior to that.

6-2.
