When installing my Panasonic High Speed scanner on a Windows® system, I get a screen that states "New Hardware Found" and it prompts me for a driver from the manufacturer. Where can I get this driver?
When you connect the scanner through SCSI, no special device driver is required. When you start Windows for the first time after connecting a scanner, Windows will report that it has detected "New Hardware", and lists three options for installing a new driver. Click on the button that says; "Do not install a driver." Panasonic KV-S or KV-SS series SCSI fscanners require only the ASPI driver or manager for your SCSI controller to be loaded in order to operate under Windows. They do not require any additional system drivers.

When you connect the scanner through SCSI, the scanner item will appear in the "Device Manager" list under the "System" control panel as "? Other devices." It should identify the scanner under "? Other Devices" (e.g. "KMEKVSS25xx") and have a yellow exclamation point next to it. Please ignore the exclamation point. It will not affect the proper functionality of the scanner. Make sure your SCSI ASPI driver is installed correctly. See if there is an icon that says "SCSI Controllers." If it is not listed, then run "Add New Hardware" to install your SCSI controller drivers. If there is a yellow exclamation point or red cross through the SCSI controller icon, then your ASPI driver or ASPI manager is not installed correctly (Contact your SCSI controller manufacturer for installation instructions).
"ASPI drivers" for your SCSI controller are required when using the bundled software of Panasonic High Speed SCSI Scanners.
On Windows 95/98/Me, ASPI drivers are pre-installed in Windows system, however, on Windows NT/2000/XP, ASPI drivers are not pre-installed.

If some trouble occurs even on Windows 95/98/Me, please download and install the latest version of ASPI drivers from the above-mentioned WEB site.
If you use non-Adaptec SCSI controller, contact your SCSI controller manufacturer for ASPI installation instructions.
ISIS drivers bundled in KV-S2055W(U), KV-S6040W(U), KV-S6045W(U) install ASPI driver when the drivers themselves are installed. But this ASPI driver is not the last version and causes abnormal termination when you use scanner software. Please install the latest ASPI drivers according to the above-mentioned explanation.
Why my PC or SCSI devices which connected the Panasonic High Speed scanner does not work normally?
Check the Panasonic scanner and SCSI termination of the SCSI device.
NOTE !! : The following listed models, their termination function do not work properly while scanner power is off. If these models are the end of SCSI devices and with no SCSI terminator on the back side SCSI connector, confirm scanner power is on and termination is enable.
KV-SS905C, KV-S2065W/L, KV-S2055W/L, KV-S6050W/6055W, KV-S6040W/6045W
It's an interface to scan a static image and available on Windows OS after Windows 98. You don't need ASPI when you use STI.
There is no difference on performance between STI and ASPI. But when you scan with USB interface, STI is a must.
Only KV-S3105C, KV-S3085, KV-S7075C, KV-S7065C, KV-S3065CW/L, KV-S2048C, KV-S2046C, KV-S2028C, KV-S2026C, KV-S1045C, KV-S1025C and KV-S1020C among Panasonic scanners are available for STI. Others require the ASPI.
The STI driver(Device driver) for scanners is required when using the STI. Please install the driver file according to the installation manual bundled with scanners since it's in the CD-ROM bundled with scanners.
You can get it from the "Download" page as well.
When you use the latest RTIV, TWAIN and ISIS with KV-S2045C or KV-S2025C, you can use STI. In this case, please get the STI driver file from the "Download" page.

What is ISIS?
ISIS stands for Image and Scanner Interface Standard. ISIS, a de facto standard created by Pixel Translations(present EMC Corporation) is a system of software modules, each of which performs a specific image related function. ISIS modules are available to control scanners and printers, assist in the viewing of images, compress and convert the format of image data, and read or write files containing data.

How often should I clean the scanner paper feed rollers?
To ensure optimal scanning performance, the paper feed rollers should be cleaned once a week or when 20,000 sheets or more are fed into the unit. In an environment where NCR paper is used, it is recommended that the paper feed rollers are cleaned on a daily basis. Treated papers, like NCR paper, contain chemicals that cause rollers to deteriorate at an accelerated rate, requiring roller replacement much sooner than scheduled. A good daily cleaning of the paper feed rollers with isopropyl alcohol will help to prolong the life of the rollers in this harsh environment.
Why is my scanner double-feeding paper?
Document double feeding may be caused by dirty rollers. Just like your car, your scanner needs routine maintenance. Regular cleaning and maintenance of your scanner will protect your investment, maximize scanner performance, and provide you with the best insurance against costly downtime. Please refer to your operation manual for instructions on cleaning your scanner.
What could be causing a vertical line down a scanned image, when there is no line on the original document?
Having paper dust collect on or near the CCD or CIS can cause a line to appear on the digitized image. To remove this line, you will need to clean the rollers and the lens. Also, using compressed air will blow away any loose particulars such as paper shavings or paper dust.

- 2)Press ink bag through the lower hole of cartridge with a pin inside inkcartridge box, until ink drop appears
