S.A.R Values
Any potential health issues related to the use of mobilephones are of prime importance to Panasonic. Panasonic recognises and understands the concerns of mobilephone users and is committed to ensuring the continued safety of its customers.
Governments around the world have adopted comprehensive international safety guidelines, developed by independent scientific organisations, governing the exposure to RF (Radio Frequency). Panasonic mobilephones are designed, manufactured and tested thoroughly to ensure that they comply with all applicable exposure guidelines.
Independent testing of Panasonic mobilephones has consistently shown compliance with the European Standard EN62209 which is based on the ICNIRP Guidelines for general public exposure used in most countries (click here for further information
) and the IEEE C95.1 used in USA, Canada & Taiwan, etc. (click here for further information
)
What is SAR?
To communicate with the network, mobilephones emit low levels of radio waves (also known as radio frequency or 'RF' energy) when being used. Testing of Panasonic's products, and those of other mobilephone manufacturers, is performed by SAR assessments. SAR stands for Specific Absorption Rate, which is the unit of measurement for the amount of RF energy absorbed by the body when using a mobilephone. SAR is determined, in laboratory conditions, at the highest certified power level. When in use, the actual SAR level of the phone can be well below this value. This is because Panasonic mobilephones are designed so that they use the minimum power required to reach the network.
Different mobile manufacturers may report lower or higher SAR levels for their phones than other manufacturers. All mobilephones must meet RF exposure guidelines and therefore a lower SAR level does not imply that one phone is safer than another.
Where can I get the SAR value for my phone?
